Synopsis


The slow but progressive construction and consolidation of the democratic institutions and the professionalization of the public administration in Mexico, are being threatened by a series of attacks that the federal government has provided in almost two years of ruling. Through budgeting reduction, the colonization of managerial bodies of autonomous branches, and the disappearance and subordination of institutions, the federal executive has undertaken a decisive campaign to dismantle some of the democratic counterweights that could restrict the presidential power and delay the consummation of the fourth transformation project.
